Stop Making Excuses and Start Making A Creative Business: Ep. 213
The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullsh*t story you keep telling yourself as to why you can’t achieve it. ― Jordan Belfort
Oh, yes, the bullsh*t stories. After seeing a recent UC Berkely study debunking the myth that entrepreneurship is risky, we realized that believing that is just the beginning of the excuses we make not to proactively pursue our independent, creative destiny. Excuses can sound rational and full of common sense, but ultimately, they are symptoms of a fear virus. I call it a virus because it always comes back and you can catch it from from friends and family. Fear that we can't make it, and that the only way we can survive is by being beholden to an employer. All the time, not realizing that job security is an oxymoron; a myth from another time.
People thrive with their creative businesses all the time. Is it easy? Hell no. Becoming independently successful is the hardest thing you will ever do. Worth it? Hell yes.
Nothing is impossible; there are ways that lead to everything, and if we had sufficient will we should always have sufficient means. It is often merely for an excuse that we say things are impossible. – Francois De La Rochefoucauld
